Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at a prenatal surgical consultation?

Dr. Frykman reviews the prenatal imaging with you, explains what the finding means, outlines what care after delivery is likely to involve, and answers your questions before your baby arrives.

When should we arrange one?

As soon as a condition is identified on prenatal imaging. Meeting your surgeon in advance gives you time to understand the plan and to prepare rather than making decisions under pressure.

Can the consultation be done remotely?

Consultations can often be arranged by telehealth for families travelling a distance, though an in-person visit is sometimes preferable. The team will discuss the options with you.
